Freddi Manson - Counsellor/Client working agreement

My Promise
Confidentiality
Counselling is confidential in all normal circumstances. Exceptionally, if I feel there is a risk of serious harm to you or others I may decide to involve other parties, keeping you as fully involved as possible.
Professional conduct
As part of my professional obligations, my work is regularly reviewed with a supervisor. This is done without any reference being given to your identity which remains confidential at all times. I work to the ethical framework set out by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - www.bacp.co.uk
Holidays and absences
I will give you as much notice as possible of any absences due to illness or holiday.
Increases in fees
I make any revisions to my fees annually, in May, and will give you reasonable notice of any changes.

Your promise
Sessions
The frequency of sessions differs from client to client, but most people start therapy by scheduling one session per week. Counselling involves a contract between counsellor and client whereby you agree to attend sessions and I agree to work therapeutically with you and for which you pay an agreed fee. The more you feel able to talk about your thoughts, feelings and behaviours the more therapy has the potential to help.
Payment of fees is requested at the end of each session, by cheque or cash or by a monthly bank transfer by prior arrangement beyond the initial session.
If you are late I may not be able to extend your session and the full fee remains payable. If you are unable to attend please give me as much notice as possible. If notice is less than 48 hours the full session fee remains payable.

Arrangements
Session timing & Costs
Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and normally take place at my offices in Bloomsbury and Canada Water. Current charges are shown on my website.
Communication
Phone call, text message or email can be used to arrange, cancel or re-arrange sessions. I don’t use other Internet facilities e.g. Facebook for client communications.
Ending therapy
When you decide that our work is complete it is usually helpful to fix a date for the last session to allow time for an ending process.
